Results for cross country, eighth grade football
Greene County eighth grader Bailey Cunningham is Heart of Iowa Activities Conference cross country champion after placing first with a time of 12:42.60 in the junior high girls race at the conference meet in Ames Oct. 12. This was the third first place finish for Cunningham this season.
Sophie Ausberger placed 28th at 16:05.33, Ashlee Harmeyer placed 29th at 16:05.51 and Izzy Bravard placed 40th at 16:06.94. Seventh grader Conner Allender was 50th at 16:38.35. Eighth grader Emily Hofer was 58th at 17.28.99. Annie Twillie was the next finisher for the seventh graders in Greene County with at time of 17:57.45, at 65th place. Eighth grader Megan Doran was 72nd at 18:28.86, followed closely by Kassie Lamoureux in 73rd place with a time of 18:31.68. Eighth grader Regan Williams was 89th with 20:58.48 and she was followed by seventh grader Hannah Curtis at 90th with 20:29.30.
Closing out the Ram times were Julia Oyres, a seventh grader, at 21.21.52, eighth grader Kirsten Lamoureax at 21:26.90, and Hannah Action at 100th with a 29.18 time. Overall, the girls placed fifth of seven in team scoring.
For the boys division, the lone member, Brian Hardaway, placed 29th with a time of 14.19.87.

The Ram eighth grade football team’s B squad earned a pair of shut-outs. The Rams traveled to Carroll on Thursday, Oct. 8, and beat the Tigers 44-0.
On Monday, Oct. 12, the Rams topped the DCG Mustangs 18-0 in Grimes.
“Winning these two games was great for these kids, but holding both opponents to zero points is impressive. This is a great group of kids to work with. They have a lot of passion and desire. They always play hard on every play,” coach Chad Morton said.
